FASEB Fellows for the Future Mentors are expected to actively support mentees’ professional development throughout fellowship and society activities. Like the Fellows, Mentors will participate in onboarding activities to ensure appropriate mentor-mentee matches and uniform mentor training. In addition to bi-monthly meetings with Fellows, mentors will support Fellows in their participation in society activities and throughout the in-person leadership retreat.  Mentors are expected to support Fellows for the entirety of the 12-month fellowship, which will start in October 2024 and conclude September 2025. 

 

Onboarding

 

• Completion of an onboarding survey (30 minutes)
• Participation in virtual onboarding session (60 minutes)
• Completion of Center for Improvement of Mentored Experiences in Research (CIMER) training (2 hours)
• Completion of DiSC self-assessment & analysis (2 hours)

Fellowship

 

• Bi-monthly mentor meetings (6 hours)
• In-person leadership retreat (2 full days)
• Society engagement (1-2 hours/month)

Post-Fellowship

 

• Program assessment interviews (2 hours)
