Society Involvement and Leadership

 

  • Explore how to advocate for governance changes within a scientific society
  • Enhance your skills in meeting facilitation, conflict resolution, visionary and strategic leadership, and understanding of society operational structures
  • Expand your network by working with a mentor to become more actively involved in your society’s leadership opportunities 
  • Receive a stipend to attend society events (meetings, conferences, workshops) and a FASEB-hosted social gathering at annual meetings that will enable you to network with other fellows, mentors, and society leaders in inclusive and accessible environments 

Mentorship

 

  • Be matched with a mentor who will champion your participation in society leadership and volunteer activities
  • Receive guidance from your mentor on how to become a volunteer leader and develop a strong network within the society 

Professional Development  

 

  • Attend the Council of Engineering and Science Society Executives (CESSE) Association Basics course (free) 
  • Attend the University of Chicago Leadership Certificate Program (free)

Community 

 

  • Engage in an exclusive virtual collaborative community with other fellows and their mentors 
  • Take part in monthly virtual FASEB Fellows community engagement sessions
